Day 1 of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park tour
Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park, depending on the time of arrival at Entebbe international airport on the day 1 of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park tour, you will be picked by our driver guide who will brief you about the tour and then transfer to Lake Mburo national park in western Uganda.
The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours drive and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will buy craft souvenirs, take photos and then proceed to the park. Upon arrival you will continue to the lodge for lunch and thereafter go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo which starts at around 2:00pm. During the boat cruise you will have spectacular views of the beautiful scenery, view animals like hippos and crocodiles in water, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, warthogs along the shores, water birds like the elusive shoebill stork, cormorants, kingfishers, fish eagles, view fishermen preparing their fishing gears for night fishing among others. After the boat cruise you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on day 2 of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park tour you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view animals when they are most active. During the game drive you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impala, elands, giant forest hogs, warthogs, oribi, waterbucks among others grazing in the flat savannah plains, view predators like leopards, hyenas if you are lucky, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park with en-route lunch in Mbarara town. After lunch you will proceed to the park with stunning views of the crater lakes, Rwenzori mountain ranges, tea plantations, among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Morning game drive, on day 3 of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park tour you will have an early breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive which starts at around 6:30am in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas among others before they go back to their hiding areas, view large herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, topi, waterbucks, bushbucks grazing in the open savannah grasslands, view different bird species, beautiful sunrise, vegetation types among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to the landing site near the luxury Mweya safari lodge for an amazing boat cruise which is carried out on Kazinga channel a channel that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. During the boat ride which starts at around 2:00pm and takes about 2 to 3 hours ride, you will have great views of water birds like cormorants, malachite and pied kingfisher, fish eagles, herons, papyrus gonolek among others, view large concentrations of hippos in water, crocodiles backing on the shores, view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes drinking water along the banks, view fishermen organizing their fishing nets, take incredible photos, view beautiful scenery among others. After the boat cruise you will either drive to Katwe Crater Lake where you will view the local people extracting rock salt from the lake or drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala
on day 4 of the 4 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park tour, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a short game drive in the park where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed the previous day. After the short game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Kampala with fascinating views of Kalinzu forest, tea estates among others on the way and en-route lunch in Mbarara town. After lunch you will continue the journey to Kampala and your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
