The 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari is an amazing short adventure that starts and ends in Kampala. The safari will take you to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is one of the best gorilla trekking destinations located in the southwestern part of Uganda. Bwindi impenetrable national park harbors about 19 habituated gorilla families which are found in four sectors including Rushaga, Nkuringo, Ruhija and Buhoma. All the four sectors are open for gorilla trekking activities hence giving you an opportunity to interact with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Day 1 of the 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari
Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park, depending on where you are located on the first day of the 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. It’s a whole day journey and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take photos, buy some souvenirs and then proceed to Igongo cultural centre for lunch. After lunch you will continue passing through Mbarara town, Ntungamo, Kabale with views of Kigezi hills, beautiful landscape, local people, terraced farmlands among others. Upon arrival in the park you will continue to check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park is done in groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a park guide who is well conversant with gorilla trekking trails and a gorilla family to trek depending on your physical fitness and personal interests.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park is carried out deep into the forest and it takes 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food.
During trekking you will be able to view different wildlife species such as animals like forest elephants, buffaloes, duikers, different bird species, other primates like chimpanzees, l’hoest monkeys, view different plant and tree species among others. Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural environment which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their behaviors, habits, watch them carrying out their daily activities like breastfeeding, feeding, playing, take clear photos and record videos to show people back home, ask different questions about the mountain gorillas among others. After spending one hour with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking activity and then meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. On the way you will have stunning views of traditional homesteads, local people, terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills among others and then continue to Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch you will proceed with the journey to passing via the Equator to Kampala where your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any nearby hotel depending on your schedule.
