Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport on the first day of the 2 days Uganda gorilla trekking from Kigali, our driver guide will pick you up from the airport, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is located in south western part of Uganda. The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours drive and on the way you will have en-route lunch and great views of the rolling hills in Rwanda, beautiful landscape, local people, Kigezi hill, traditional homesteads among others. You will pass via Cyanika border in Kisoro district or Katuna border in Kabale district to the park headquarters and upon arrival you will continue to check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and departure to Kigali

Gorilla trekking, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 2 days Uganda gorilla trekking from Kigali, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorillas trekking. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide who is well conversant with gorilla trails in the jungle and a gorilla family to trek. Allocation of gorilla families in Bwindi impenetrable national park is done according age, physical fitness and personal preferences because gorilla trekking is strenuous. Trekking of the mountain gorillas in the park takes 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night, during trekking you will be able to able to view some bird species, animals, other primates like l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, different tree and plant species among others. Once the gorilla family is found you will be allowed to spend one hour with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them carrying out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, grooming each other, observe their behaviors, habits, take pictures and record the videos with a flash less camera.

After the face to face encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Kigali. On the way you will pass via Cyanika border or Katuna border and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
