Detailed itinerary
Day 1: pick up & transfer to Ruhengeri
On the 1st day, your guide will welcome you and brief you about the safari. After briefing, you will enjoy a city tour in Kigali city as you explore the different sites around the city such as the genocide sites, kimironko market and many more.
You will also have lunch in Kigali and after enjoying the Rwandan cuisine, and then after proceed to Ruhengeri where you will check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight
Accommodation: Hotel Muhabura.
Day 2: Dian Fossey Hike
Wake up early in the morning, you will be served with breakfast at your lodge and later proceed to enjoy your first adventure in Volcanoes national park which is Hiking the Dian Fossey Tomb to Karisoke
After your hike, you will return to your lodge where you will have your lunch and relax as you wait for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 3: transfer to Bwindi
Wake up on the 3rd day, enjoy breakfast at your lodge after which you will check out of the lodge. And then embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for another amazing experience.
You will pass via Cyanika Border and then later continue to your lodge where you will have dinner and overnight at Ichumbi gorilla lodge.
Day 4: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest
On the 4th day you will have early breakfast at your lodge and later your guide will drive you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park headquarters for briefing about the activity. After briefing, you proceed to trek in the forest with rangers who will guide you as you search for the gorillas in their natural habitat.
During gorilla trekking you will be able to spot other primate species such as the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangbeys, l’hoest among others plus various bird and butterfly species in the trees of the dense forest. After your gorilla trekking activity, you will return to the point where you had your briefing for your trekking certificate and your guide will drive you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Ichumbi gorilla lodge.
Day 5: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
On the 5th day of your 8 days Rwanda wildlife safari and Uganda safari, wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and later checkout your lodge for Queen Elizabeth national park. You will drive through the ishasha sector known for its tree climbing lions as well as the spectacular open savannah plains.
You will proceed to check in at the lodge and have dinner and also enjoy a relaxing night at Pumba cottages.
Day 6: game drive in Queen Elizabeth N.P and boat cruise
Have breakfast and head out for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park.
During your game drive, you will sight various wildlife species such as Uganda kobs, antelopes, waterbucks, buffaloes, hippos among others as they roam around this national park actively especially during the morning hours of day. You will return to your lodge after your morning game drive for lunch.
Later in the evening, you will have a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where see different wildlife species near the shores, flocks of birds coloring the water banks as you watch the beautiful sunset. You will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Pumba cottages.
Day 7: transfer to Lake Mburo and night game drive
Wake up, you wil be served with breakfast and check out of the lodge. Following your departure from Queen Elizabeth national park, you will proceed to Lake Mburo national park where you will check in at your lodge and have lunch.
In the evening you will enjoy a unique experience of a night game drive in the national. During the night game drive, you will see the nocturnal creatures in the national park. After the night game drive, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages.
Day 8; Transfer to Kampala city tour and Departure
Have breakfast at your lodge and complete the checking out as you prepare for your journey to Kampala.
You will be driven by your guide with stop overs at Lake Mburo national park on an enroute game drive, stopover at the equator to enjoy photographic moments, you will also see different souvenirs.
After lunch, you will proceed to Kampala city where you will have a glimpse of the different landmarks and busy streets of Kampala and this will mark the end of your Uganda Rwanda Safari tour.
