5 days Volcanoes National Park : These 5 days Volcanoes National Park Safari will take start with a visit to Ruhengeri / Musanze, then proceed to hike Visoke (Mount Bisoke ) , Hike the Dian fossey tomb on the next day and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park for the primates tour which are Gorillas and Chimpanzees
Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri / Musanze
Our representative will meet you at Kigali International airport or pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and enjoy a brief tour of Kigali city including a visit to the local market and the Genocide memorial site. Arrive Musanze spend the evening at leisure relaxing at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s hike or visiting the surrounding village Overnight: Hotel Muhabura
Day 2; Bisoke (Visoke) Hike – Volcanoes National Park
You will enjoy breakfast and set out for Mt. Bisoke hike which is part of volcanoes national park; home to Rwanda gorillas. On reaching the summit, you will discover a beautiful crater lake and the whole experience is overwhelming! Along the trail, you will discover a lot of birdlife and captivating scenery – the reason Rwanda is referred to as the “land of a thousand hills”.
After the hike, you will have lunch and transfer back to your accommodation. Spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Muhabura
Day 3: Dian Fossey Trekking – Karisoke
Breakfast will be served early and drive back to the park headquarters for briefing and go for Dian Fossey trekking to Karisoke. The trek is challenging and lasts 6 to 7 hours. Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Muhabura
Day 4: Gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park
As early at 6am, you will be expected to be up for breakfast and ready to set off for the trek. Our guide will meet you after having your breakfast and your lunches packed and he will take you to Kinigi Headquarters where you are expected to be given a brief before starting the gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. This brief is done at 7am. You are given guidelines during this brief before you are allowed to start the trek. This gorilla trek can take to about 2 hours to half a day as it’s unpredictable. When you finally find the gorillas, you will have to maintain a 6 meters distance and you are allowed one hour to admire and take photos of the gorillas.
After the trek, you will have lunch and taken back to your hotel as the night before to relax and reminisce on the experience. You can ask the guide in case you want to have another activity in the evening at your own
Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking
Breakfast will be served early and drive back to the park headquarters as on day 2 above. Receive briefing and go for Golden monkey trekking. Tracking is done in Volcanoes national park, but less strenuous compared to Gorilla trekking. It lasts 2 to 5 hours and transfer back to Kigali and proceed to the airport for your onward flight.
