Gorilla Trekking In Africa

Gorilla trekking is one of the most loved and the most popular safari activity in Africa, as the activity involves the trekking with the experienced guides and rangers to the African forests or jungle in order to encounter the most amazing creature that almost resembling the humans. The trekking of the gorillas takes a tourists between 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the exact location of the gorilla one is interested in, where by the activity begins with the briefing from the park rangers and guides about the rules and regulations of the gorilla trekking, then after the briefing the tourists do divide themselves in the groups of 8 people per group where each group is assigned to various group of the gorillas depending on their  fitness, the people in the group goes while searching for the interested gorilla family.

Mostly the gorillas are always trekked basing on the evidence they have left back also the guides can be knowing where the gorilla families are located that is each group as a team is sent out into the jungle to locate the primates based on where they were last sighted the previous night.

After when the tourists reach the jungle to do the gorilla trekking, they are highly attractive especially the mighty silverback which is the first heard to be seen by the tourists minus seeing the rest of the fellow group members, here the tourists are given time to observe the group gorilla members in the one hour given to the tourists. Here, the tourists enjoy the most of the interesting time while enjoying with the gorillas, here a tourist watches as the gorilla family is feeding, mothers breast feeding, sibling grooming, watching them playing as the silverback is always on the lookout. During the one hour the tourists also enjoy taking pictures with the gorillas but only the non flash lights cameras are the ones that are recommended to be used in order to prevent the disruption of the gorillas.

Mountain gorillas are so known as the most gentile primates compared to other primates, where the silverback has got over the control of the gorilla family, the silverback ensures that all the members in the group are line and accommodate each other, the silver back deals with any interruption obstructing the group members, though being the gentile primates of the earth it is important to note that every tourist during the gorilla trekking should follow the rules and regulations given during the trekking.

Best time for gorilla trekking.

Gorilla trekking is best done all the year around in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. The best time to go for gorilla trekking is during the months of June, July, August, September, December, January and this is because during those periods there are less rains and the national parks are drier making it simple for the tourists to hike and see the mountain gorillas well. This however doesn’t limit one’s visit to any of the gorilla parks as there can be rains any month of the year being tropical forests.

The gorillas maintains the biodiversity of their forest homes by spreading the seeds of the trees they eat and by opening up the gaps in the trees as they move around, letting in light and helping sun loving plants grow.
